Meet our Founder

Krysta graduated with her Engineering degree in 2016. She worked as an engineer for contracting companies in New York City for eight years. She enjoyed what she was doing, but always knew she would never be fully satisfied unless she worked for herself one day. Putting effort into her home to make her atmosphere comfortable and inviting was very important to Krysta. After coming home from her demanding job, she wanted to be able to unwind and enjoy her space. Lighting a candle was always part of that routine.

She also loved supporting small businesses and purchased from them whenever possible. However, she became very curious on why she spend $60 on two 10 ounce candles knowing that stores sell them for much cheaper. Krysta began to research all about the process and learned how dangerous mass produced candles are for our homes. Not only are most made from a wax that is a by-product of gasoline, but there were so many other ways they can cause harm to us. The worst part? None of it had to be disclosed on their warning labels! The wicks used were releasing lead, the fragrance oil used contained toxic ingredients and the wax had harmful additives.

However, most people settled for these candles because they knew natural candles simply weren't strong enough. This really bothered Krysta and set her on a mission to create a safe, non-toxic candle that smells just as strong (if not stronger) than those harmful mass produced candles. After eight months of testing, Burning Intentions was born
